Forecasting the designs of London Fashion Week SS15

The most acclaimed event in the entire women’s fashion calendar, London Fashion Week, is returning to the capital next month, between the 20th and 24th February.

Thousands of designers, high-profile spectators and fashion royalty are set to descend upon the multitude of showrooms displaying the best of the Spring/Summer 2015 (SS15) collections. Taking place over four days, what was once a trade event has now transformed itself into one of the most anticipated and influential gatherings in the fashion industry.

The week is a chance for many British fashion designers and brands to sink their teeth into SS15 by showcasing their interpretations for the season ahead. British designers such as Belstaff, Burberry, Mulberry and Vivienne Westwood are just a few of the renowned names that will be offering up shows over the week, but there will also be a plethora of up-and-coming designers to peruse.

Although we are not one to follow the trends, as we believe in creating timeless garments that never go out of fashion, it is always exciting to see what the next season has in store in an array of live catwalk shows, installations, presentations and parties. Our hopes are high for the beautiful garments and delights that the event will reveal.

Britain dominates the catwalk

By looking at the catalogue of London Fashion Week designers, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the event is solely for British talent.

Despite the effect that global designers have had on the fashion industry, British designers have stepped into the spotlight of next month’s London Fashion Week. Although many of the designers are not British themselves, they have studied in Britain and the influence of the country is apparent in the careful attention to detail in their designs and the sharp lines of their tailoring.

Britain has been an advocate for elegant tailoring for hundreds of years, and while the popularity of the high street has led many people to buy off the peg, the likes of Myles Anthony are still flying the flag for quality British bespoke tailoring.

The holy grail of fabrics

If you are seeking luxury fabrics, there really isn’t a more opulent location to browse them than at London Fashion Week. With an abundance of gorgeous designs, textures and colours on display, you’re almost guaranteed to find something that tantalises your imagination.

At Myles Anthony, we believe that true luxury shouldn’t just be a representation of the label on your clothes. The essence of luxury is the fit of the garment you own, the fabric it has been created from and the lasting quality of the piece. This cannot be found in just any old jacket you could pick up from the high street, it can only come from garments that have been lovingly tailored to fit you like a glove.

With years of experience of tailoring for women, we know how much of a difference fine quality materials can make to a garment. This is why we try to work exclusively with the very best British-made materials. Using luxury fabrics such as these provides our customers with fabulous garments they will be proud to wear year after year.

If you garner any design ideas during London Fashion Week, why not book an appointment with our tailors to see if they can turn your vision into reality?
